Service Procedure
1. Disconnect the vehicle battery.2. Open the -12A581- wiring harness at the takeout (Figure 1) to the washer pump/blower motor/blower motor resistor and locate the Orange/Black splice (S148) with three (3) 12 gauge circuits (Figure 3).
3. Open the heat shrink and splice the Orange/Black circuit on the relay assembly jumper with the three (3) circuits in the -12A581-. Route this wire along the outside of the large wire harness loom that attaches to the bulkhead.
4. Open the -12A581- wiring harness at the cowl area between the two 76-way takeouts. Locate the 12 gauge Orange/Black circuit and cut it.
5. Take the end that continues on toward the driver's side of the vehicle and perform a one-on-one splice with the 18 gauge Orange/Black circuit (261 A) on the relay jumper assembly. Tape back the end that continues toward the passenger side of the vehicle (Figure 4).
6. Open the -12A581- wiring harness to the right (outboard) of the most outboard 76-way takeout.
7. Find the 18 gauge Yellow/Red circuit (753) and cut it.
8. Take these two (2) ends and perform a three (3) circuit splice with the 18 gauge Yellow/Red circuit on the relay jumper assembly (Figure 4).
9. Place the 10 gauge Black circuit (57) from the relay jumper assembly onto the ground screw located on the LH radiator support near the LH headlamp opening (Figure 2).
10. Snap the relay onto one of the open fingers on the 4-finger relay bracket located near the LH headlamp opening (Figure 1).
11. Tape all exposed wire to the outside of the wire harness loom.
12. Replace the blower motor switch and repair any damaged wiring.
13. Reconnect vehicle battery and verify proper blower motor operation.
