WIRING - TRAILER TOW OUTLET - AUXILIARY BATTERY FEED NOT "HOT" AT ALL TIMES

LIGHT TRUCK:
1992-93 ECONOLINE

ISSUE:
The trailer tow auxiliary battery feed may not be "hot" at all times. This occurs because the circuit was originally designed to be only "hot" when the key was ON in the Accessory position.

ACTION:
Install a revised harness which will keep the auxiliary battery feed "hot" at all times. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. Disconnect and remove left side battery.





2. Disconnect 14A341 harness 10-way connector from 12A581 harness, Figure 1.

3. Detach relays from bracket and remove harness assembly from vehicle.

4. Transfer only two (2) relays to the new harness.

5. Install new harness and relays (F3UZ-14A341-C).

a. Attach relays to bracket.

b. Connect the 10-way connector to the 12A581 harness.

6. Reinstall the battery and connect cables.
