Safety Recall 93S67 - Certain 1992 and 1993 Model Year Econoline - with DSO package for Sears, Roebuck and Company - Fuel Filler and Vent Hoses
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 1992 and 1993 Model Year Econolines produced from November, 1991 through February, 1993 with the DSO option # 2700020 and # 3700020 (interior Storage racks exclusively for Sears, Roebuck and Company).
REASONS FOR RECALL
The fuel tank filler and vent hoses may have been inadvertently damaged during the installation of the DSO option. In some cases, fuel spillage could result. A fuel spillage in the presence of an ignition source could potentially result in a fire.
To correct this condition, the fuel tank filler and vent hoses will be replaced and a support leg for the storage rack option will be relocated.

FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES DEALERS TO COMPLETE ANY OUTSTANDING SAFETY RECALL SERVICE BEFORE A NEW VEHICLE IS DELIVERED TO THE BUYER OR LESSEE. VIOLATION OF THIS REQUIREMENT BY A DEALER COULD RESULT IN A CIVIL PENALTY OF UP TO $1,000 PER VEHICLE.

OPERATOR/FLEET MANAGER CONTACT
Immediately contact any operator or fleet manager whose name is not on the list. Give owner a copy of the Owner Letter and arrange a service date.

- an operator/fleet manager cannot be contacted.
- an operator/fleet manager does not make a service date.
FCSD CONTACT
Talk with your FCSD Service Zone Manager about all matters.

Submit 1864 claims using DWE for all completed vehicles. You may use your original 1863 for your record file copy.

Dear Sears Fleet Operators and Managers
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Ford Motor Company has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1992 and 1993 model Econolines produced exclusively for Sears, Roebuck and Company with a special order option package.
SAFETY DEFECT
The fuel tank filler and vent hoses may have been damaged during the installation of certain Domestic Special Order interior storage racks. In some cases, a fuel spillage could result. A fuel spillage in the presence of an ignition source could potentially result in a fire.
REPAIRS
At no charge to you, your dealer will replace the fuel tank filler and vent hoses and relocate a support leg for the option. Dealers currently have instructions and parts ordering information.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The time needed for this service is about one hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicle for one full working day.
CALL YOUR DEALER
Call your dealer without delay. Ask for a service date and whether parts are in stock.
If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.
When you bring your truck in, give the dealer this letter.
If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.
CHANGED ADDRESS OR SOLD THE TRUCK?
Please fill out the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to us if you have changed your address or sold the truck.
