KE9 - Check IAC Circuit For Short to Power

- Key "OFF".

- Breakout box installed, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) disconnected.

- Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid disconnected.

- Key on.

- Measure voltage between test pin 21 at the breakout box and chassis ground.

- Is voltage less than 1.0 volt?

Yes -- Go to KE10. KE10 - Check For IAC Signal From the PCM

No -- Service short circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) or symptom is still present, replace PCM.
