Audible Warning Device Control Module: Description and Operation

OPERATION
Key-In-Ignition Input
Sends a ground signal to the warning buzzer/chime module to notity the operator that the keys are still in the ignition.

Lamps On Input
With the main light switch in "PARK" or "HEAD", voltage is applied to the lamps ON input of the warning buzzer/chime module. The buzzer/chime will sound when the driver's door is opened until the door is closed or the lamps are turned off.

Seat Belt Buckled Input
With the seat belt unbuckled and the power applied to the warning buzzer/chime module, a ground signal is applied to an electronic timer to sound the warning buzzer/chime for six seconds.

Seat Belt Lamp Output
When the ignition switch is turned to "START" or "RUN", the warning buzzer/chime module turns on the fasten belts indicator for four to eight seconds, whether or not the belts are buckled.
