S4 - MAP/BARO Tester Output Reading

NOTE: Measure several known good Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) / Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensors on available vehicles. The measured voltage will be typical for your location on the day of testing.

- MAP/BARO Tester and Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM) connected.

NOTE: Special Tool Required. MAP/BP Sensor Tester 105-00001. This tool converts the frequency output of the MAP/BP sensor to analog DC signal, and verifies the sensor reference voltage is within normal parameters.

- Key "ON".

Altitude To Voltage Chart:

- Is voltage in range for your altitude?

Yes -- Remove MAP/BARO Tester. Reconnect all components.

For vehicles with Mass Air Flow sensors: Go to S8. S8 - Check EGR Vacuum

For all others: Go to S5. S5 - Check Vacuum Lines

No -- Replace MAP/BARO sensor. (Sensor output is out-of-range).
