Injector Driver Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: RED-STRIPED WIRES CARRY 115V DC. SEVERE ELECTRICAL SHOCK MAY BE RECEIVED. DO NOT PIERCE.

CAUTION: Do not pierce engine electrical wires or damage to the harness may occur.

1. Disconnect battery negative cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Remove module bolts.
3. Loosen wiring connector retainer bolt.
4. Remove Injector Driver Module (IDM).

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse removal procedures.
2. Tighten IDM retainer bolt to 3-4 Nm (27-35 in lb).
