Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor:

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor changes resistance in response to changing intake air temperature. The IAT sensor resistance decreases as the air temperature increases, providing a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating temperature of the incoming intake air.
