Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect battery positive cable.2. Disconnect wiring on dash panel in engine compartment by loosening bolt in center of connector.

3. Remove right and left inside windshield molding, Fig. 6.
4. Remove engine cover.
5. Remove left and center snap in molding on each side of steering column.
6. Remove attaching screws and bolts from steering column opening reinforcement.
7. Remove steering column shrouds, then disconnect electrical connectors at bottom of steering column.
8. Loosen retaining bolt and disconnect ignition switch connector from steering column.
9. Remove two attaching screws and right hand side lower trim panel.
10. Remove right and left cowl side trim panels, then disconnect parking brake wiring.
11. Remove three nuts attaching parking brake assembly to lefthand cowl side, then position aside. Do not disconnect cable.
12. Disconnect wiring and radio antenna at right cowl side.
13. Disconnect electrical connector at brake light switch.
14. Disconnect heater control cables and A/C vacuum line connector on right side of instrument panel, if equipped.
15. Remove bolt attaching right side of instrument panel.

16. Remove bolts attaching center of instrument panel and below instrument panel register, Fig. 7 .
17. Remove pinch bolt from steering column to extension shaft. Compress extension shaft toward engine and separate it from column U-joint.
18. Disconnect transmission shift cable from steering column.
19. Remove four bolts attaching left side of instrument panel to cowl side.
20. Remove four screws attaching top of instrument panel.

21. Support instrument panel and pull rearward, then disconnect any remaining wires or components, Fig. 8.
22. Carefully remove instrument panel through driver's side door.
23. Reverse procedure to install.
