B3 Determine Whether Cause Is Brake Control Module or Wiring

- Disconnect antilock brake control module 40-way connector.

- Key ON.

- Is the red brake warning lamp On?

YES -- Red brake lamp comes On brightly. Go to B5. B5 Check For Intermittent Short

YES -- Red brake warning lamp comes On, but only dimly. Current path to B+ has been detected in Circuit 162 (LG/R). Repair wiring fault or Replace 14401 harness. Verify concern is resolved, Go to B13. B13 Verify Condition Resolved

NO -- Direct short to B+ in Circuit 162 (LG/R) has been detected. Find and repair wiring fault. Verify concern is resolved, Go to B13. B13 Verify Condition Resolved
