Timing Cover: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION1. Drain cooling system, then remove radiator.
2. Remove drive belt, then disconnect upper radiator hose, remove fan and fan shroud as required.
3. Remove A/C compressor and power steering pump bracket and accessories.
4. Remove crankshaft pulley, then using crankshaft damper removal tool No. T79T-6316-A, or equivalent, remove vibration damper.
5. Remove oil pan to front cover attaching bolts, then remove front cover and water pump as an assembly. Cut oil pan gasket flush with cylinder block face and position a new one in its place.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Apply RTV sealant to oil pan gasket surfaces.
