Flow of Diagnosis
NOTE: If any concerns are noted with the speedometer, the stoplamps or the horn, address those concerns before continuing speed control diagnosis.1. Verify the customer concern by operating the speed control system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
- Damaged speed control actuator cable
- Speed control actuator cable not attached to throttle body cam
Electrical
- Blown fuse
- Damaged wiring
- Loose, corroded or dirty connections
- Damaged speed control actuator switches
3. If the inspection reveals an obvious concern that can be readily identified, repair as required.
4. If the concern is still present after inspection; go to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
