Retrieving Parameter Identification Codes

NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to retrieve Parameter Identification (PID) codes without the New Generation Star (NGS) tester.

To retrieve PIDs, follow these steps:
1. Connect the New Generation Start (NGS) Tester to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Select the MODEL YEAR and VEHICLE.
4. Select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK.
5. Select ECS (Air Bag Electronic Crash Sensor [ECS] module).
6. Select PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
7. Record all PIDs which are to be retrieved and press START. PIDs are updated continuously on the display.
