Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.2. Remove the air cleaner housing assembly and air duct.
3. Remove the radiator.
4. Remove the parking lamp assemblies and the headlamp assemblies.
5. Remove the A/C condenser assembly (if so equipped).
6. Remove the air deflector, the radiator grille, the radiator grille opening panel, and the upper and lower radiator core supports.
7. Remove the front bumper.
8. Remove the accessory drive belt.
9. Remove the oil filler tube.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C compressor, if so equipped.
11. Disconnect the air conditioning manifold lines from the A/C compressor, if so equipped.
12. Disconnect the A/C manifold line from the tee block (if so equipped).
13. Disconnect the vacuum pump hose from the vacuum manifold.
14. Disconnect the power steering pump lines from the power steering pump.
15. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bracket retaining bolts and the mounting bracket.
16. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.
17. Remove the drive belt tensioner assembly.
18. Remove the generator bracket retaining bolts and the generator mounting bracket.
19. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the right side of the engine compartment.
20. Remove the battery ground cables from the cylinder block.
21. Disconnect the MAP sensor hose from the right intake manifold runner.
22. Disconnect the heater hose at the right cylinder head.
23. Remove the turbocharger assembly.
24. Disconnect the heater hose.
25. Remove the nut and wire from the maxifuse.
26. Disconnect the fuel lines.
27. Remove the retaining bolt and position the fuel filter drain tube aside.
28. Install the two engine lift adapters on the engine.
29. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket on the right side cylinder head.
30. Raise and support the vehicle.
31. Remove the starter motor.
32. Remove the right and left engine mount nuts.
33. Remove the flywheel housing cover.
34. Remove the torque converter-to-flywheel retaining nuts.
35. Disconnect the engine block heater.
36. Remove the oil filter.
37. Lower the vehicle.
38. Remove the transmission to engine bolts.
39. Position a jack under the transmission to support it during engine removal.
40. Remove the transmission fill tube.
41. Install the Heavy Duty Floor Crane and Diesel Engine Lifting Attachment on the engine.
42. Raise the engine high enough to clear the No. 1 crossmember and pull the engine forward.
43. Remove the engine lifting equipment from the engine.
44. Mount the engine on a work stand, using the Engine Mounting Brackets.
