Turbocharger: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Remove the turbocharger heat shield.







3. Remove the Marmon clamp retaining the exhaust pipe to the turbocharger.







4. Remove the nuts and bolts retaining the exhaust inlet adapter to the exhaust manifold.

NOTE: Both left and right side exhaust adapters mount the same way. Only the right-hand side is shown.







5. Loosen the clamps and remove the air intake hose from the turbocharger.







6. Loosen the clamps and remove the compressor manifold from the turbocharger.







7. Remove the bolts retaining the turbocharger to the engine.

NOTE:
- The right rear retaining bolt cannot be completely removed from the turbocharger.
- Exhaust inlet adapter removed for clarity.

8. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the turbocharger.







9. Remove and discard the O-rings.

INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-rings.












2. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
