Installation

1. Install the gasket on the cylinder head.
2. Using the Cylinder Head Lifting Bracket, with an assistant, lift the cylinder head and position it on the cylinder block.





3. Remove the Cylinder Head Lifting Bracket.





4. Lightly lubricate the cylinder head retaining bolt threads and flanges with clean engine oil and install the cylinder head retaining bolts.

CAUTION: Do not use too much engine oil on the threads, or damage to the threads and poor sealing can result. Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any other lubricants except engine oil on the cylinder head bolt threads because they will affect the true torque value reading of the bolts.

NOTE: The cylinder head bolts are installed in three steps.





5. Further tighten the cylinder head bolts.





6. Final tighten the cylinder head bolts





7. Connect the fuel return tube at the front of the cylinder head.
8. Install the glow plug relay bracket and glow plug relay.





9. Install the exhaust back-pressure tube.





10. Install the high-pressure oil supply tube to the cylinder head.





11. A Install the generator mounting bracket.





12. Connect the electrical connectors to the generate
13. Install the drive belt tensioner.
14. Install the accessory drive belt.
15. Install the heater hose on the cylinder head.
16. Position the oil level indicator tube on the exhaust manifold, and install the retaining nut.
17. Install the turbocharger compressor manifold.





18. Install the fuel supply tube to the rear of the cylinder head.
19. Install the fuel injectors.
20. Install the rocker arms, push rods and valve cover.





21. Connect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor tube to the intake manifold cover.
22. Install the upper radiator support, the radiator grille opening panel and the radiator grille.
23. Install the A/C condenser (if so equipped).
24. Install the radiator.
25. Install the parking lamp and the headlamp assemblies.
26. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
27. Install the engine cover.
