Throttle Full Close Switch: Description and Operation

The Idle Validation Switch (IVS) provides the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with a redundant signal to verify when the accelerator pedal and shaft is in the idle position. Any detected malfunction of the IVS will illuminate the CHECK ENGINE light and the engine will operate at low idle only.
