Test AC: Radio Interference

AC1 - Verfiy Radio Interference

AC1:

Start and run the engine. Tune the radio to a station where the interference is present.

AC1:

Is there interference present with the upper generator disconnected?


YES GO to AC3.

NO GO to AC2.


AC2 - Susbstitute A Known Good Generator For The Upper Generator

AC2:

Turn the engine off.


Install a known good generator.

AC3:

Start and run the engine.

Is there radio interference with a known good generator?

YES INSTALL the original generator and REFER to Accessories and Optional Equipment/ Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc for diagnosis and testing of the in-vehicle entertainment system.

NO INSTALL a new generator. TEST the system for normal operation.

AC3 - Verify There is Radio Interference

AC3:

Verify the interference is present with the lower generator disconnected.

Is the interference still present?

YES REFER to Accessories and Optional Equipment/ Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc for diagnosis and testing of the in-vehicle entertainment system.

NO INSTALL a new lower generator. CLEAR the codes and TEST the system for normal operation.
