Installation







1. Connect the shift cable to the steering column.
(1) Connect the shift cable to the steering column instrument panel bracket.
(2) Connect the shift cable to the shift tube lever.





2. Position the steering column and install the nuts.





3. Install the steering column shaft bolt.





4. Install the electrical connectors.





5. Install the transmission range indicator.
(1) Install the indicator cable.
(2) Install the bolt.





6. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector.





7. Position the instrument panel opening cover support and install the nuts.





8. Install the instrument panel steering column cover.
(1) Position the instrument panel steering column cover.
(2) Install the nuts.





9. Install the instrument panel floor duct panel.





10. Install the parking brake release handle.
(1) Position the parking brake release handle.
(2) Install the screws.





11. Install the hood latch release handle.
(1) Position the hood latch release handle.
(2) Install the screws.





12. Carefully press the (A) three clips and install the (B) lower instrument panel fuse door.





13. Carefully press the (A) four clips and install (B) steering column opening cover.

NOTE: Move the shift lever to the (1) position to ease installation.





14. Install the driver side air bag module.
(1) Connect the air bag sliding contact electrical connector.
(2) Connect the horn electrical connector.
(3) Position the driver side air bag module.
(4) Install the two screws.

15. Connect the battery cables.
(1) Connect the battery to starter relay cable.
(2) Connect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
