Front Stabilizer Bar Components:

The front suspension system is a long spindle short-long arm (SLA) with gas pressurized shock absorbers, a coil spring, and a spring steel stabilizer bar.

The front suspension upper arm and the front suspension lower arm have pressed-in rubber bushings on the inner ends and are attached to frame mounted brackets. An integral ball joint is attached to the outer end and is secured to the front wheel spindle by a castellated nut that is locked by a cotter pin. A urethane seal is provided over the ball joint to keep dirt and moisture from entering the ball joint. A ball joint shield protects the ball joint seal. All caster and camber adjustments are done at the front suspension upper arm.

The gas pressurized shock absorbers are mounted inside the coil spring and attached to the lower control arm. The upper portion of the shock absorber extends through the spring housing.

The position of the control arms allows the front wheel spindle to move in a three-dimensional arc.

Side roll of the front suspension is controlled by the stabilizer bar. The stabilizer bar is mounted in rubber bushings held to the frame by brackets. The ends of the stabilizer bar are connected by stabilizer bar links to the front suspension lower arm.
