Installation

1. Install the Engine Lifting Eyes on the exhaust manifold.
1 Install the two stud bolts.
2 Install the 7.5 mm spaces.
3 Install the Engine Lifting Eyes.
4 Install the nuts.

2. Install the Spreader Bar on the Engine Lifting Eyes.
3. Position and attach a floor crane to the Engine Lifting Eyes.
4. Remove engine from work stand.





5. Lubricate the crankshaft rear oil seal and install on the adapter tool.
- Use clean engine oil or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.

NOTE: Be sure the crankshaft rear sealing surface is clean and free of any rust or corrosion. To clean the crankshaft rear sealing surface, use extra-fine emery cloth or extra-fine 0000 steel wool with Metal Surface Cleaner F4AZ-19A536-RA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M5B392-A.





6. Install the rear main oil seal replacer set.





7. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal until it is flush with the cylinder block.
8. Install the flywheel.
9. If required, install the clutch.
10. Lower the engine into the engine compartment.
11. Raise and support the vehicle.





12. Install the nine bolts.





13. Connect the transmission electrical connectors.





14. Install the nuts.





15. Install the nuts.
16. Remove the engine lift brackets from the exhaust manifold.
17. Install the starter motor.





18. Connect the exhaust inlet crossover to the exhaust manifold.
- Install the LH and RH bolts.





19. Position the A/C manifold tube bracket through the RH wheel well and install the bolt.
20. Lower the vehicle.





21. Position the battery cable bracket and install the bolt.





22. Connect the vapor valve line to the throttle body.





23. Position the generator harness and connect the retaining clip.





24. Connect the vacuum connector to the brake booster.
25. Connect the fuel lines.





26. Connect the engine wire harness bulkhead connector and install the bolt.





27. Connect the A/C high pressure switch electrical connector.





28. Position the engine-to-body ground wire and install the bolt.





29. Position the engine harness ground wire and install the stud bolt.





30. Position the PCM electrical connector and install the bolt.





31. Connect the RH vacuum connector.





32. Connect the EGR vacuum connectors and the LH vacuum connector.





33. Connect the accelerator cable to the upper intake manifold.





34. Connect the heater water hose to the lower intake manifold.
1 Position the heater water hose.
2 Install the clamp.





35. Connect the heater water hose to the water pump
1 Position the heater water hose.
2 Install the clamp.





36. Position the generator mounting bracket and install the bolts.





37. Connect the heater hose retaining clip.





38. Connect the electrical connectors.





39. Position the A/C compressor mounting bracket and install the bolts.





40. Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.





41. Position the A/C manifold tube on the A/C compressor and install the bolt.





42. Install the upper radiator hose.
1 Position the upper radiator hose.
2 Install the clamps.





43. Position the accelerator control splash shield and install the bolts.





44. Connect the lower radiator hose to the water pump.
1 Position the lower radiator hose.
2 Install the clamp.





45. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and install the drive belt.
46. Install the outlet side of the engine Air Cleaner (ACL).
47. Fill the A/C system with refrigerant.
48. Install the hood.
49. Fill the engine cooling system.
50. Fill the engine to the proper level with clean engine oil or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
51. Connect the battery ground cable.
