Ride Height - With Automatic Ride Control

NOTE: A New Generation STAR (NGS) tester or equivalent scan tool must be used to perform this operation. Ford does not provide a procedure to reset the ride height without this equipment.

1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Tester to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Select the RIDE CONTROL OUTPUT screen and turn on the following solenoids to vent the entire system of air and to lower the vehicle to its lowest attainable height:
- FRNT FILL (front fill solenoid).
- REAR FILL (rear fill solenoid).
- GATE VALVE (gate solenoid).
- VENT (vent solenoid).

3. With NGS Tester still installed, verify the front mechanical ride heights.

NOTE: Be sure to use the height setting for vehicles equipped with automatic ride control.

4. Close all doors including the liftgate and liftgate window.
5. Reopen any door (to ensure that the height will not change until the internal electronic calibration is complete).
6. Park the vehicle on a flat surface.
7. Use a floor jack to raise the front of the vehicle approximately 15 mm (5/8 in), but no more than 20 mm (3/4 in). Measure the distance from the lowest point of the left front wheel to the fender lip opening.

NOTE: Failure to conduct this step will result in pneumatic faults.

8. From the function menu, quickly select RIDE HEIGHT CALIBRATION.
9. Note the warning on the NGS Tester screen and follow the directions.
10. Lower the vehicle and clear all stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
