Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by operating the engine to duplicate the condition.2. Inspect to determine if any of the following mechanical concerns apply:
- Engine oil leaks.
- Damaged and/or severely worn parts.
- Loose bolts, studs, and nuts.
3. If inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, repair as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
