Suspension Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the battery negative ground cable.

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

NOTE:
- Place the vehicle in NORMAL.
- Ride heights must be reset for the Automatic Ride Control (ARC) module whenever the ARC module is replaced.





2. Remove the center instrument panel finish panel.
(1) Remove the rear wiper/washer knob.
(2 Remove the screws.
(3) Disconnect the connectors and remove the center panel finish panel.
(4) If equipped, disconnect the 4x4 switch electrical connector.

3. Remove the message center.





4. Remove the automatic ride control module.
(1) Remove the retaining screw.
(2) Slide module down and out of the support bracket.





5. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the module.

INSTALLATION





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
- When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
- When installing a new control module ride height adjustment must be performed.
