Suspension: Adjustments

1. Drive the vehicle onto a runway lift.

WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO HOISTING, JACKING OR TOWING AN AIR SUSPENSION VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY TURNING OFF THE AIR SUSPENSION SWITCH LOCATED IN THE RH KICK PANEL AREA. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN UNEXPECTED INFLATION OR DEFLATION OF THE AIR SPRINGS, WHICH CAN RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE DURING THESE OPERATIONS.

2. Jounce the vehicle's front and rear suspension to normalize the vehicle's static ride height.

3. Measure the front suspension from the centerline of the front suspension lower arm bushings to the runway lift. Record the measurement.

NOTE: The torsion bar adjusting bolt is coated with Loctite that wears off after disassembly. If the torsion bar system is ever disassembled or the torsion bar adjusting bolt is ever removed, use a new torsion bar adjusting bolt when re-assembling.

4. Measure the front suspension from the bottom of the front wheel knuckle to the runway lift, and record the measurement.

5. Record the ride height specifications.
(1) Record the specification measurement for original suspension components.
(2) Record the specification measurement for new suspension components.

NOTE: The ride height specification for vehicles with new suspension components is higher than the specification for vehicles using original suspension components to allow for new component setting.

6. Adjust the ride height.

NOTE: The ride height measurement on the opposite side from the adjustment may change, inspect the ride height on both sides after each adjustment.

7. Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
