Exterior Lighting
The headlamp switch is a four position switch that controls the headlamps, exterior lamps, panel lamps, and, if equipped, the fog lamps and the autolamp system.
The autolamp system provides light sensitive automatic on-off control of the exterior lamps normally controlled by the regular headlamp switch. The autolamp system keeps the lamps on for a preselected period of time after the ignition switch is turned off. The preselected time lapse is adjustable up to approximately three minutes.
The multi-function switch controls the turn signals, high beams, and hazard lamps. The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch controls the brake lamps and rear hi-mount lamp.
If equipped, the cargo lamp is integral with the rear hi-mount lamp and is illuminated any time the interior lamps are on.
If equipped, the signal mirrors are part of the outside rear view mirrors. They are equipped with LEDs that illuminate when the turn signal lamps operate. The signal mirror LEDs cannot be seen by the driver and are intended to give other drivers additional warning for turns and/or lane changes.
