Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the backup lamps.
2. Visually inspect for the following obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Damaged backup lamp switch

Electrical
^ Blown fuse(s)
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connections
^ Damaged backup lamp
^ Digital Transmission Range (DTR) (automatic transmission) or backup lamp switch (manual transmission)

3. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
