Cruise Control: Description and Operation
The speed control servo is mounted to the RH fender. The servo converts an electrical signal into a constant speed. The cable relays servo actuation to the throttle lever setting vehicle speed. The speed control switches are mounted to the steering wheel. The speed control indicator is located on the instrument cluster above the speedometer, and illuminates when the speed control is active. The indicator automatically goes off when the brakes are applied, or when the switch is disengaged.
The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch is located on the brake pedal bracket. When the brakes are applied the switch sends an electrical signal to the speed control servo, which disengages the speed control system if it is active.
