Instrument Panel - Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Remove the steering Column.







2. Remove the screws and position the parking brake release handle aside.







3. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch electrical connector.







4. Remove the RH and LH scuff plates.
1 Remove the eight screws.
2 Remove RH and LH scuff plates.







5. Remove the LH and RH cowl side trim panels.
^ Remove the pushpin on the LH Cowl trim panel.







6. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the ground wires on the RH cowl panel.







7. Remove the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings.







8. Remove the instrument panel fuse door.







9. Disconnect the power distribution box from the bracket and position aside.







10. Remove the bulkhead wiring harness from inside the engine compartment.
1 Loosen the bolts.
2 Disconnect the electrical connectors.







11. Pull the bulkhead electrical connector handle to disconnect the harness.
12. Remove the passenger side air bag module.







13. Disconnect the blend door actuator electrical connector.







14. Disconnect the climate control vacuum harness connector.







15. Disconnect the radio antenna cable in-line connector.







16. Raise and secure the glove compartment.
^ Press the release tabs inward while raising the glove compartment.







17. Remove the instrument panel defroster opening grille.







18. Remove the instrument panel cowl top bolts.







19. Remove the instrument panel brace bolt under the steering column.







20. Remove the RH instrument panel cowl side bolt.







21. Remove the LH instrument panel cowl side bolts.
22. Position the instrument panel away from the dash panel.







23. Disconnect the instrument panel to body harness.
1 Loosen the bolt.
2 Disconnect the harness.
24. Remove the instrument panel.
^ If necessary, transfer the components to the new instrument panel.

NOTE: Two technicians are required to perform this step.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the instrument panel.

2. Connect the instrument panel to body harness.
1 Connect the harness.
2 Install the bolt.
3. Align and install the instrument panel.







4. Install the LH instrument panel cowl side bolts.







5. Install the RH instrument panel cowl side bolt.







6. Install the instrument panel cowl top bolts.







7. Install the instrument panel defroster opening grille.







8. Install the instrument panel brace bolt.







9. Lower the glove compartment.
^ Press the glove compartment release tabs inward while pulling downward on the glove compartment.







10. Connect the radio antenna cable in-line connector.







11. Connect the climate control vacuum harness connector.







12. Connect the blend door actuator electrical connector.
13. Install the passenger side air bag module.







14. Connect the electrical connectors and the ground wires on the RH cowl panel.







15. Position the bulkhead electrical connector handle.







16. Connect the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch electrical connector.







17. Install the bulkhead wiring harness connectors.
1 Connect the electrical connectors.
2 Install the bolts.







18. Install the power distribution box onto the bracket.







19. Install the LH and RH cowl side trim panels.
^ Install the pushpin on the LH cowl trim panel.







20. Install the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings.







21. Install the RH and LH scuff plates.
1 Position the scuff plates.
2 Install the eight screws.







22. Install the instrument panel fuse door.







23. Install the parking brake release handle.
1 Position the handle.
2 Install the screws.
24. Install the steering column.
