Intake Air System

The air induction system supplies filtered air to the engine to mix with the fuel for combustion purposes. The air induction system consists of:
- the engine Air Cleaner (ACL)
- the air cleaner element
- the air cleaner outlet tube
- the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF sensor)
- the throttle body
- the intake plenum

The engine air cleaner:
- is chemically treated, pleated paper.
- filters the engine intake air.

The Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT sensor):
- is mounted in the air cleaner outlet tube.
- monitors engine inlet air temperature.
