G: LFC 19/DTC B1231 - Crash Event Detected
Normal OperationWARNING: The air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module orientation is critical for correct system operation. If a vehicle equipped with an air bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) has been involved in a collision in which the right cowl A-pillar area has been damaged, inspect the mounting and bracket for deformation. If damaged, the ECS must be replaced whether or not the air bags have deployed. In addition, make sure the area of the ECS mounting is restored to its original condition.
When the air bag modules and belt and buckle assembly pretensioners are deployed during a crash, the air bag ECS will store DTC B1231 in memory and flash LFC 19 (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag indicator. This DTC indicates that a crash has been recorded by the ECS. A new ECS must be installed.
Possible Causes
A crash event which deployed the air bag modules and belt and buckle assembly pretensioners.
