S: No Communication With the ECS Module
Normal OperationThe Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) Will communicate the system fault codes through the New Generation Star Tester (NGS), using the Data Link Connector (DLC). If the NGS Tester displays "NO COMMUNICATION" when retrieving continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), use this pinpoint test to troubleshoot the system.
Possible Causes
No communication with the ECS module can be caused by:
- damaged wiring on ignition Circuit 298 (P/O).
- damaged wiring on Circuit 70 (LB/W).
- poor module ground.
- NGS Tester damaged.
- low battery voltage condition.
