Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the tie rod end castellated nut.
1. Remove the cotter pin.
2. Remove the nut.
3. Using the Pitman Arm Puller, remove the tie rod end ball stud from the front wheel spindle.
4. Remove the tie rod end.
1. Loosen the bolts on the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp.
2. Count the number of turns required to remove the tie rod end from the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp.
Installation
1. Install the tie rod end.
- Turn the tie rod end into the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp approximately the same number of turns used to remove old tie rod end. This will provide an approximate toe-in setting.
2. Tighten the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp.
3. Install the ball stud in the front wheel spindle, then tighten the castle nut.
4. Install a new cotter pin.
5. Check toe-in. Check clear vision.
