Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by operating the system to duplicate the condition.WARNING: WHEN SERVICING THE STARTER MOTOR OR PERFORMING OTHER UNDERHOOD WORK IN THE VICINITY OF THE STARTER MOTOR, BE AWARE THAT THE HEAVY GAUGE BATTERY INPUT LEAD AT THE STARTER SOLENOID IS ELECTRICALLY HOT AT ALL TIMES.
2. Inspect the system to determine if any of the mechanical or electrical concerns apply.

- Starter motor mounting
- Starter relay mounting
Electrical
- Battery condition
- Electrical connections at the switches, relay and solenoid
- Fuse 20
