Replacement

Special Tool(s):

Removal
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.





2. Disengage the steering coupling shield from the line fitting and slide upwards on the steering shaft.





3. Remove the pinch bolt.
1 Turn the steering wheel as necessary to access the bolt.
- Make sure the steering column is locked.





4. Disconnect the lines.
5. Raise the vehicle.





6. Remove the cotter pin and nut.
- Discard the cotter pin.





7. Disconnect the drag link.
- Use the Steering Arm Remover.





8. Remove the bolts and the steering gear.





9. Use the Steering Arm Remover to remove the steering gear sector shaft arm.

Installation

















1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.





2. When connecting a fitting with a seal ring, the ring must be replaced.
- Use the Seal Replacer to install a seal ring over a fitting.

3. Fill and leak check the system.
