Spark Plug Wire Remover:
SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S)
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Spark plug wires must be connected in the correct firing order. Mark spark plug wires before removing.
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Using the special tool, with a twisting motion, pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug.
CAUTION: It is important to twist the spark plug boots while pulling upward to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wires.
3. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil by squeezing the locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward.
4. Disconnect the spark plug wire routing clips.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION: Be sure to orient the spark plug boots so the spark plug wires do not contact the exhaust manifold.
NOTE: Apply Silicon Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A to the inside of the spark plug and ignition coil boots of the spark plug wire.
