ISSUE

A lack of power under a load, at cruise or on acceleration may occur on some vehicles built before 11/25/2000 equipped with the 7.3L DIT engine. This may be due to an intake air flow constriction, associated with the air filter element and/or the air box/lid.

ACTION

Verify condition. If normal diagnostics cannot pinpoint condition, replace the air cleaner assembly and element with revised 3" panel element and revised air lid and air box, 1C3Z-9600-AA. Refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual, Section 303-12 for air cleaner removal and installation details.
