Lower

Removal

1. Remove the valve covers.
2. Disconnect the fuel line.
3. Remove the water thermostat.





4. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.





5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, and the water temperature sender electrical connectors.





6. Remove the intake manifold.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the intake manifold and gasket.

Installation

1. Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces.





2. Apply a bead of silicone rubber in four places.
- Use Silicone Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A4.





3. Install the gasket, the intake manifold and tighten the bolts in sequence in four steps:
1 Tighten to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).
2 Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3 Tighten to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
4 Tighten to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).





4. Connect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, and the water temperature sender electrical connectors.





5. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
6. Install the water thermostat.
7. Connect the fuel line.
8. Install the valve covers.
