V6 Firing Order And Spark Plug Cable Orientation At Ignition Coils:

BTDC - Before Top Dead Center.

Below is a list of the footnotes from the Tune-Up Specifications Chart.
1 - Cylinder numbering front to rear;
Right bank: 1, 2, 3, 4
Left bank: 5, 6, 7, 8
Firing order: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

2 - Idle speed on man. trans. models is adjusted in Neutral. On auto. trans. models, idle speed is adjusted in Drive (D). When checking idle speed, set parking brake & block drive wheels. Where two idle speeds are listed, the higher speed is with the idle or A/C solenoid energized.

3 - Wrap shop towel around diagnostic valve to prevent fuel spillage. Connect a suitable fuel pressure gauge to fuel diagnostic valve. Energize fuel pump & note fuel pressure reading.

4 - With inline spout connector disconnected.

5 - Firing order: l-4-2-5-3-6. Refer to Fig. A for spark plug cable orientation at ignition coils.

6 - Equipped w/electronic distributorless ignition system.

7 - Equipped w/crankshaft position sensor & not adjustable.

8 - Engine idle speed is controlled by the Idle Speed Control Valve. This valve is operated by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

9 - Firing order: 1-6-5-10-2-7-3-8-4-9.

10 - 1999 - 2000: 3O - 45 psi.
2001: 35 - 55 psi.
