Driveshaft Angle Inspection

Special Tools:

CAUTION: Prior to checking driveline angularity, inspect the U-joints for correct operation.

1. Note: Use a drive-on hoist or back onto a front end alignment rack.

Raise and support the vehicle.
^ Normalize the suspension.
2. Inspect the suspension and chassis. Verify that the vehicle ride height is within specification.

3. Note: Calibrate the Anglemaster II Driveline Inclinometer on a level frame location.

With the vehicle empty and all fluids full, measure at the bottom of the frame rail and verify that the curb position ride height is within specification.

4. Place the Anglemaster II Driveline Inclinometer flush against the driveshaft.
5. Record the reading and subtract the angle of the surface supporting the vehicle to obtain the correct driveshaft angle.
