Oil Cooler Internal Leakage Test

Internal Leakage Test
1. Remove the oil cooler from the engine.
2. Remove and discard the oil cooler header gaskets.
3. Position the oil cooler assembly onto the pressure tester and install the mounting bolts.
4. Test the oil cooler.
1. Connect a compressed air source to the fitting on the Oil Cooler Pressure Tester.
2. Place the indicator hose in a cup of water.
3. Turn the air pressure adjustment valve until the pressure gauge reflects 275.8 kPa (40 psi) and check the cup of water for bubbles. Bubbles indicate that an internal leak is present.
5. If a leak is detected, refer to Oil Cooler in Disassembly and Assembly of Subassemblies.
