Exhaust System: Description and Operation

The exhaust system consists of the components shown in the following illustrations.






Exhaust System-3.0L and 4.0L Engines






Exhaust System-2.5L Engine

Exhaust fasteners are of a torque prevailing design. If installing new fasteners, use only new fasteners with the same part number as the original. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of exhaust components.
To case removal and installation of the exhaust components, lubricate the insulators using Aerosol Silicone Lubricant F5AZ-4 9553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M13114-A.
