Installation

1. Attach the Lifting Eyes.
2. Position the engine-to-transmission spacer plate.





3. Install the flywheel.
4. Position the engine in the vehicle.





5. Install the four nuts.
6. Remove the Lifting Eyes.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.





8. Install the eight transmission-to-engine bolts.





9. Install the transmission cooler line bracket and bolt.





10. Install the four torque converter nuts.
- Install the nuts.
- Install the access plate.
11. Install the ground cable.
12. Install the starter motor.
13. Connect the dual converter Y pipe.
14. Install the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S).
15. Lower the vehicle.





16. Connect the engine sensor control wiring to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.





17. Connect the vacuum line to the vacuum reservoir.





18. Connect the transmission wiring harness connectors.





19. Connect the engine sensor control wiring to both heated oxygen sensors.
20. Position and connect the generator wiring harness.





21. Install the powertrain control module ground strap.
22. Install the powertrain control module wiring bracket.





23. Connect the engine control wiring harness to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).





24. Connect the vacuum line to the evaporative emissions solenoid.





25. Connect the engine control sensor wiring connector.





26. Connect the vacuum line.
27. Connect the vacuum line at the intake manifold.
28. Install the accelerator cable and the speed control actuator cable.





29. Connect the fuel lines.





30. Install the ground cable.





31. Connect the heater water hoses.





32. Install the A/C compressor and A/C compressor mounting bracket as an assembly.
- Position the assembly.
- Install the front bolts.
- Install the two rear bolts.





33. Connect the A/C compressor wiring.





34. Install the fuel line bracket.





35. Position the A/C suction/discharge line and install the nut.





36. Connect the A/C line at the accumulator.
37. Install the suction/discharge manifold on the A/C compressor.
38. Connect the engine sensor control wiring to the A/C cut-out switch.
39. Install the radiator.





40. Install the fan shroud.
- Position the fan shroud.
- Install the bolts.
41. Install the drive belt.





42. CAUTION: The fan clutch has left hand threads.

Using the Fan Pulley Holding Wrench, install the fan clutch and the fan blade.
43. Connect the upper. radiator hose and the lower radiator hose to the radiator.
44. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
45. Install the hood.
46. Connect the battery ground cable.
47. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
48. Charge the A/C system.
49. Inspect the engine and cooling system for leaks.
