Rear Bumper: Service and Repair

REAR BUMPER - EXPEDITION

Removal and Installation







1. Remove the license plate lamp assembly.
- Twist the lamp bulb and pull out from behind the rear bumper (17906).

2. Support the rear bumper.







3. If equipped, position the receiver style trailer wiring receptacle and bracket aside.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Position the wiring receptacle and bracket aside.







4. If equipped, position the standard trailer wiring receptacle and bracket aside.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Position the standard trailer wiring receptacle and bracket aside.

5. If equipped, disconnect the parking aid wiring harness electrical connector.







6. Remove the rear bumper.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Remove the rear bumper.







7. If necessary, remove the rear bumper step pad.







8. If necessary, remove the rear bumper arms.
1 Remove the ten bolts (five on each side).
2 Remove the rear bumper arms.

9. If necessary and equipped, remove the parking aid sensors and bezels.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
