Pickup Bed Lean - Shimming, Pickup Bed

PICKUP BED LEAN - SHIMMING, PICKUP BED

1. Determine the need for shimming; refer to Pickup Bed Lean-Measurements. Pickup Bed Lean - Measurements







2. Loosen the pickup bed bolts.

- NOTE: Label the pickup bed bolts because they are not identical and must be installed in the same location that they are removed from.

Remove the bolts on the low side of the pickup bed.

3. Raise the low side of the pickup bed and install shims between the top of the frame and the bottom of the pickup box crossmembers.







4. Tighten the pickup bed bolts.
5. Align the pickup bed; refer to Pickup Bed Alignment. Pickup Bed Alignment
6. Recheck the vehicle lean; refer to Pickup Bed Lean-Measurements. Pickup Bed Lean - Measurements
7. Remove the rear bumper brackets.







8. Ream the holes in the rear bumper bracket for the rear bumper bolts.

9. NOTE: When installing the rear bumper be sure to align the bumper with the pickup bed.

Install the rear bumper.
