Torque Specifications

LH:

Exhaust Manifold LH
Install the exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust manifold and the bolts and nuts.
^ Tighten the nuts and the bolts in the sequence shown, in two stages:
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).





Exhaust Manifold RH
Install the bolts and the nuts.
^ Tighten in the sequence shown in two stages.
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
Raise and support the vehicle.





Upper Intake manifold

NOTE: Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.





Lower Intake manifold
Install the bolts and tighten in the sequence shown.





Crankshaft Upper main bearings
Install the crankshaft upper main bearings.





Crankshaft Lower main bearings
Install the crankshaft lower main bearings.





Install the main bearing caps.





Cylinder heads

Install the cylinder heads.






Install the bolts. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in five steps.
1 Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
2 Loosen the bolts one full turn.
3 Tighten the bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4 Tighten the bolts 90°.
5 Tighten the bolts an additional 90°.





Flexplate or Flywheel
Position the flexplate on the crankshaft and install the bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern.





Crankshaft pulley
Install the crankshaft pulley.

Water Pump Bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
