Rear Three- or Four-Passenger Quick Release Bench Seat
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
Safety Belt Bolt Bit:
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the rear bench seat assembly. For additional information, Procedures
2. Remove the armrest (if so equipped).
1 Peel back the Velcro(R)-fastened armrest cover to expose the armrest bolt.
2 Remove the bolt and crown washer.
3 Remove the armrest.
3. Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end, if so equipped.
1 Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end bolt.
2 Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end.
4. Remove the safety belt assembly from the left and right stanchions.
1 Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the safety belt anchor bolt from the stanchion.
2 Remove the safety belt assembly.
5. Remove the left and right stanchions from the seat.
1 Remove the upper and lower bolts.
2 Remove the stanchions from the seat.
NOTE: When removing the stanchions, note their locations on the seat cushion frame and install them in the same location.
6. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the center safety belt bolt and washer from the rear seat cushion frame and remove the center safety belt (four-passenger bench seat only).
7. Remove the rear seat cushion cover from the seat back bracket.
1 Remove the plastic seat cushion cover fastener.
2 Peel back the rear seat cushion cover to expose the seat back bolts on the seat back bracket.
NOTE: Examine the seat cushion cover plastic fastener and install new if worn.
8. Remove the bolts from the rear seat cushion frame and remove the seat back.
9. Remove the seat cushion cover clips from the rear seat cushion frame.
10. Remove the rear seat cushion frame from the rear seat cushion pad.
11. Remove the rear seat cushion cover.
1 Pull the safety belt ends up through the rear seat cushion cover and the rear seat cushion pad.
2 Peel the rear seat cushion cover from the rear seat cushion pad.
12. Remove the rear seat back cover.
1 Unclip the J-clip at the bottom of the rear seat back cover.
2 Peel the rear seat back cover from the seat back.
13. Lift the rear seat back pad from the rear seat back frame.
NOTE: When replacing the rear seat back pad with a new one, a cut-out must be made on the new pad to fit around the armrest bracket.
14. Remove the armrest bracket bolts and remove the armrest bracket from the rear seat back frame.
ASSEMBLY
1. Follow the disassembly procedure in reverse order. Tighten the fasteners to the correct specifications.
2. Check the restraint system for correct operation.
