Disassembly

WARNING: Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag module. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.

WARNING: The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury.

NOTE: If a seat equipped with a seat mounted side air bag and/or a safety belt pretensioner (if equipped) system is being serviced, the supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be depowered. Air Bag Systems

NOTE: The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.

NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner C303.

3. Remove the under-seat storage drawer.
1. Open the under-seat storage drawer.
2. Press up in the plastic release tab by hand and pull the under-seat storage drawer from the passenger under-seat storage housing.






4. NOTE: Use the following steps to remove the passenger under-seat storage housing.

Remove the passenger seat. For additional information, Procedures

5. Remove the passenger seat support.

6. Remove the screws.






7. Remove the passenger under-seat storage housing from the seat support.






Assembly

1. Install the passenger under-seat storage housing to the seat support.






2. Install the screws.






3. Install the passenger seat support.

4. Install the passenger seat. For additional information, Procedures

5. Install the under-seat storage drawer.

6. Connect the passenger safety belt buckle pretensioner C303.

7. Repower the SRS. For additional information, Service and Repair

8. Check the restraint system for correct operation.
