Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Use the given procedure to test an ISO relay.







1. Using two No.10 (or larger) gauge jumper wires, connect relay Terminals 86 and 30 directly to the positive battery terminal.







2. Measure the voltage between the battery negative terminal and Terminal 87A. If 10 volts or greater are not present, replace the relay. If 10 volts or greater are present, continue with the test.







3. Connect a third jumper wire between the battery negative terminal and Terminal 85.







4. Measure the voltage between the battery negative terminal and Terminal 87. If 10 volts or greater are not present, replace the relay.
