EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Remove the vacuum line from the EGR valve (if equipped).
3. Remove the bolts and position the differential pressure feedback EGR bracket out of the way.
4. Disconnect the EGR tube fittings and position the EGR tube out of the way.
5. Remove the two bolts and the EGR valve.
^ Discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully clean both sealing surfaces.
^ Install a new gasket
NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals.
2. Install the EGR valve (if equipped).
^ Tighten the bolts in two stages.
^ Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 Lb-Ft).
^ Stage 2: Tighten the bolts an additional 90 degrees.
3. Connect the EGR valve tube fittings.
4. Install the differential pressure feedback EGR.
5. Connect the vacuum line.
6. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
